Why a Seller Sells Short?
Due to the reduction of home values, the amount you owe for your home may be greater than
what it is worth on the market. If you place your home on the market based on your loan
amount, your home may be highly overpriced therefore receiving no buyer attention. In order to
remain competitive your home would be listed and priced according to the home values in your
local area (lower than what you owe to the bank, subject to Lender Approval).
Once an offer is received for your home, and acceptable to you, the seller, it will be presented
to the bank for their acceptance. The bank may consider the offer subject to a number of
factors further broken down in a private consultation.
Remember, every situation is unique and should first be researched & discussed.

Loan Modification: Bank allows for a decrease in your interest rate to lower you monthly
payments, helping you remain current on mortgage. (Contact your bank for more information)
Rent your home: Rent the home to someone that can afford it, while you look for a more
affordable housing solution. (If condo, you may need to check with the association to ensure
they allow rentals.)
